This first release is the accomplishment of a work of art involving people from different universes.
Sketches are part of every entity alive. Just like in the music world, a sketch represents another term, another way, another side. I must confess that when I first listened to the music Herb created for me, I was amazed by …his other side. Now, I have the confirmation that Herb never plays the same, he is an innovator. The rap song expresses whether our worthiness or worthlessness make us impervious to fear. Own our own shadows, make blossoms laugh in our hearts and ears.
The compositions and voices that Herb creates with his instrument as a leader and the bright touch of lyricism that Frank Gratkowski and Julien Petit deliver in exchange, totally filled my passion for free jazz. That said, I’m just too proud to offer to our audiences our first CD totally avant-garde!
The cooperation of Jang Linster and Aaron Baustert and as well as the enormous support from our friends on this musical adventure prove once again that music and emotions can get transformed into sonic or printed images and that life is a sweet suite of images walking always together. Thank you!. Improvisation is just ….life.

FIRST LINER NOTES FOR “TANGO SUSURRADO”
Pancho Brañas is a gifted drummer and a high individual with versatility as an improviser who can move from classical to free. He's gained important experience playing and teaching at the Conservatory of Cordoba in Spain. This gentleman is intense, and his beats have a lot of lyricism. What we can appreciate even more in Pancho is his love to work in a variety of contexts. “Tango Susurrado” is a collection of many different reflected compositions. It is for this reason why Ruby Flower-Records decided to mark its jazz debut with this creation.
Pancho Brañas likes to work in quartet formations. But this recording is the result of a very special encounter between five musicians, who in essence adore music but live different experiences. Basically it is a meeting of two generations that have been cultivating a deep feeling of enchantment towards jazz.
Pancho Bañas holds back the band and the choruses while considering the view of each musician as simply a pure expression of each song, rather than as a specific style and entity. Each moment and every song of this performance has been a celebratory moment for the musicians on board and this has been possible due to the compositions of Pancho. The care and dedication that each instrumentalist gives to this performance in this release creates wonderful material.
The combination of the resonant kick drum of Pancho Brañas offers the romantically gloomy and thrilling engagement of Guillermo Morente’s strings. Dario Moreno's fruity piano sounds sweet and cerebral, full of funky patterns and hot blasts. There's purity to his construction of notes but there's also passion and beauty. Dario paces through an elegant piano solo that acts as a pathway for the leader's cymbal games. Pancho Brañas shades the mood with the threat of power soon to be unleashed.
“Tango Susurrado” is an inventive focusing on groove and melody. But then it is also jazzy, fuzzy, Flamenco, Brazilian, dense, and bewildering with ease. With this release we share the love for composition and jazz.
